Choosing a Memorial

  • Is the stone for one person, or two?
    • If for one person, a good option is a single upright. These can be purchased starting at $480.00 which includes carving and installation (unless the cemetery has extra installation charges).
    • If for two persons, sometimes referred to as a ‘companion’ stone, double sized uprights can be purchased starting at $980.00 which includes carving and installation (unless the cemetery has extra installation charges).
  • Are there any guidelines or restrictions in the cemetery where it is to be installed?
    • In some sections of particular cemeteries, you may be required to have a Bronze memorial. While very beautiful, they can be a little more costly that a granite memorial of the same size.
  • Do you have a budget that you would like to consider?
    • When you consider your budget, please also consider that this is the one purchase that will have the longevity and practicality of no other purchase you can make.  The monument will remain virtually forever – millennia and beyond. For hundreds, if not thousands of years, future generations will be able to view, enjoy and record information about the person for historic reasons, genealogy etc. Less expensive grass markers, while they serve their purpose can and will inevitably be covered by vegetation and can be lost in time. Upright memorials do not have this problem, and are also easier to locate. Upright monuments that are thicker prove to be more sturdy, harder for a tree limb at some distant year to knock over for instance.
